Using a mount for your new flat screen TV is a great idea. Not only can you display the features of the TV in a more dominant manner, you can also have more floor space to yourself for that clean, uncluttered look. Mounting your flat screen TV on the mount may seem an intimidating task, but rest assured there is absolutely nothing to get paranoid about. You only have to ensure that the few pieces of mount parts involved in the mounting operation are properly connected as per the instruction manual and that you use the right tools and fixing materials.
The first obvious step is removing the stand from the bottom of the television monitor. You must also remove any screws that connect the stand and the monitor. Use a soft blanket to keep the television face down. When you open the mount it will reveal two parts. One is the wall bracket and the other is monitor attachment.
Television Wall Brackets
You can use the television manual to locate the positions of the holes on the back of the monitor where the attachment can be held together with screws. In new televisions these holes may be covered with plastic or PVC caps which you must remove to reveal the screw holes. Select the right series of holes for fixing the brackets to the bottom of the TV. You must then secure the attachment properly on to the back of the television.
Hanging the wall bracket is the most crucial task in the entire process. This is the time to decide the right height to fix your flat screen television. Once there is a general consensus on the height, you have to locate two studs with a stud locator. They are usually provided 12 to 16" apart. Mark them with pencil and locate the center of the stud. After drilling holes into the center of the stud, place the wall brackets against the wall and fix them firmly into place with approved size screws.
Mounting of the monitor on the mounts must be done with a lot of care and patience. Here you will need the help of a responsible person who can hold the monitor against the wall and then let it come down slowly as the hooks on the monitor attachment locks firmly and tightly into the wall bracket. Double check all fittings and screws to make sure that nothing has been left out of place. Your flat screen TV will look wonderful and elegant on that mount.
